SUITABLE FOR INTERMEDIATE YOGA PRACTITIONERS
Specialised: Aerial Yoga
This specialised class combines traditional asanas with the use of a hammock. The hammock reduces the effects of gravity and stress in the joints and spine; it also helps to build upper body and core strength and provides a medium for deep relaxation. Students are advised to wear tops with sleeves and long pants to protect the skin from rubbing against the fabric of the hammock. In some classes, additional gear with handle bars may be used to aid the alignment of certain yoga postures. Some pranayama, chanting and meditation may be included. Suitable for intermediate yoga practitioners with a consistent Aerial Yoga practice. This class builds on the necessary body stability acquired in Foundation Level Aerial classes to take on more challenging asanas and sequences. Classes are taught with modifications to allow an easy transition from Foundation Level to Mixed Level. Full inversions, deep backbends and stretching may be included in these classes. Please note that it is necessary to arrive 15 minutes early before class so the hammock height can be adjusted to an appropriate level.

Specialised: Aerial Yoga Foundation
This class introduces students to the fundamentals of a safe and consistent aerial yoga practice. It covers basic principles including key poses, orientation, benefits, contraindications and etiquette. Students are advised to wear tops with sleeves and long pants to protect the skin from rubbing against the fabric of the hammock. Combining theory with actual practice on the hammock, this class is open to any Pure Yoga student regardless of their contract location. Suitable for students with some yoga experience interested in learning about Aerial Yoga. Students intending to take Aerial Yoga classes are required to attend this foundation class first. Participants must arrive 15 minutes before class starts so that the teacher can adjust the hammock height appropriate to each student.
