Every yoga teacher brings their unique philosophies and personal experiences to their practice and teaching style. This diversity enriches the yoga community, providing students with a wide range of approaches to choose from. Some instructors prioritise physical alignment and the mastery of poses, focusing on the anatomical aspects of yoga to enhance body awareness and prevent injuries. Others may emphasise the meditative and spiritual dimensions of yoga, guiding students through practices that enhance mindfulness and inner peace. These foundational beliefs not only shape the content of the classes but also influence the atmosphere and the teacher’s interaction with students.

 

As a result of these varied philosophies, yoga teachers often adopt different styles to best convey their approach, resulting in a rich array of yoga classes that cater to a broad spectrum of needs and preferences. Here are some of the most common yoga styles taught:

 

Yoga Pillars

HEALING


Healing yoga restores balance, soothes the nervous system, and promotes deep relaxation. It includes Yin Yoga for connective tissues, Restorative Yoga for full-body support, and Sound Bath for stress relief, along with other practices that enhance physical and emotional harmony.

GROUNDING


The Grounding pillar of yoga emphasizes stability, balance, and a deep connection to the present, fostering resilience and inner calm. It includes Hatha Yoga for physical and breath awareness and Sivananda Yoga, which integrates relaxation, meditation, and spiritual grounding.

DYNAMIC


The Dynamic pillar of yoga emphasizes fluid movement, strength, and breath-synchronized flow. It includes Ashtanga Yoga, a structured and intense practice, and Vinyasa Yoga, which focuses on seamless transitions and continuous energy, along with other movement-based styles that cultivate endurance and agility.

HOT


The Hot pillar of yoga is practiced in heated studios, where elevated temperatures enhance detoxification, flexibility, and endurance. It includes Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin Yoga, along with other styles that promote sweat, mobility, and circulation for a deeper, more invigorating experience.

SPECIALISED


Our specialised yoga workshops cater to diverse needs, including AcroYoga, Aerial Yoga, Chair Yoga, Wall Rope Yoga, Yoga Wheel, Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga, and more. Led by expert instructors, we also offer personalised training in Singapore—reach out to explore tailored 1-on-1 sessions.

HOW TO BOOK A CLASS WITH PURE YOGA’S INSTRUCTORS

 

PURE Yoga members can book our classes through our dedicated PURE360 app. All class schedules are release 2 weeks in advance and members can also view more information about the class and the Yoga instructor though the app.

 

Viewing the Class Schedule:

 

To find classes taught by specific instructors:

 

  1. Visit the PURE Yoga’s class schedule and navigate to the “Singapore Schedule” section.
  2. Use the location filter to select up to five locations where you’d like to attend classes.
  3. Browse through the schedule to find classes by your preferred instructors on specific days. The schedule provides detailed information, including the type of yoga, the instructor’s name, and the class duration.

 

Booking a Class:

 

  • Online: Log in to your account on the PURE Yoga’s class schedule or via the PURE360 app, select the desired class, and book directly. You can also view class descriptions and teacher profiles to help you decide.
  • Through the Studio: Call the studio directly using the phone number provided on the website (e.g., +65 6100 2233) to book your class. The studio staff can also help answer any questions about class levels and what might suit you best.
